Tunisia Enters a New Phase of Digitalization in the Insurance Sector
Tunisia is entering a new phase of digitalization in the insurance sector with the announcement by the Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies (FTUSA) of the launch of the first mobile application for digital accident reporting, named E-Constat, starting tomorrow, Saturday, November 1st, 2025.
Simplifying Procedures and Reducing Delays
This application aims to simplify procedures after an accident and enable drivers to fill out accident reports directly via their smartphones, without resorting to traditional paper forms that caused delays and disputes on the road. The application will be available for download on Google Play and Apple App Store starting tomorrow, November 1st. It is expected to bring about a significant change in the way road accidents are managed and processed in Tunisia, making digital technology a tool for road safety and responsible citizenship.
Addressing the Rise in Road Accidents
This initiative comes at a time when Tunisia is experiencing a significant increase in the number of road accidents, with over 6,800 accidents recorded since the beginning of the year, according to data from the National Road Safety Observatory. The phase of drafting the accident report is one of the most tense for drivers, due to the refusal of some parties to acknowledge their responsibility or fear of the consequences on insurance. This makes the process long and complex, leading to congestion and tension on the roads.
A Qualitative Leap in Digital Accident Reporting
The new application represents a qualitative leap in this field. It allows users to photograph the accident, precisely locate its geographical position, enter the data of the parties involved, and attach photos as well as a digital sketch of the accident, before sending them electronically directly to the insurance company. In this way, the time devoted to procedures is reduced, disputes between drivers on the scene are avoided, and the processing of files by insurance companies is accelerated.
Modernizing Insurance Services
Regarding this, the General Director of the Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies, Hatem Amira, stated during his intervention on the "Ahla Sabah" show on Mosaïque FM today, Friday, October 31st, 2025, that this initiative represents "an important step towards modernizing insurance services and establishing a new digital culture in the relationship between the citizen and insurance companies." He added that the goal is to facilitate accident reporting and accelerate the settlement of files in a modern and reliable manner.
Key Features of the E-Constat Application
The E-Constat application is distinguished by its ease of use and speed. The accident report can be filled out in just a few minutes via a guided and simple interface, and it is recognized by all insurance companies that are members of the Federation. This new system allows for improved communication between the insurer and the insured, in addition to its significant environmental aspect thanks to the total elimination of paper documents.
Promoting a Culture of Responsibility and Road Safety
The Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies estimates that this approach will not only facilitate administrative transactions but also contribute to spreading a culture of responsibility and serenity on the roads, by avoiding the altercations that usually accompany the drafting of accident reports, thus marking a step towards safer and better-organized traffic.
