Road Accident Statistics Show Decline in 2026 (Jan 1 – Mar 8)
- 191 deaths and 873 injuries from road accidents have been recorded from the start of the year up to 8 March 2026.
- This represents a 4.98 % decrease in fatalities and a 33.66 % drop in injuries compared with the same period last year, according to the National Road Safety Observatory.
Accident Count
- The Observatory’s data also indicate a 33.49 % reduction in the total number of road accidents over the same timeframe, with 687 accidents logged between 1 January and 8 March 2026.
