Tunisia to Offer Preferential Rates on Travel Tickets for Tunisians Abroad in Summer 2026

Tunisia will continue to offer preferential rates on travel tickets for Tunisians living abroad in the summer of 2026, announced Hélmi Tlili, Director General of the Office of Tunisians Abroad. This measure will apply to travelers using the two national carriers, Tunisair and the Tunisian Navigation Company, with the aim of ensuring a summer return in the best conditions.

This announcement was made during an information meeting organized by the Tunisian Consulate General in Düsseldorf, in coordination with the Tunisian Embassy in Berlin, and attended remotely by the Director General of the Office. According to him, this initiative is part of the state's commitment to consolidating the principles of social justice and strengthening support for the various components of the Tunisian community abroad, through targeted benefits and adapted support measures.

The Director General also indicated that the Office's services will examine the request made by members of the Tunisian community in Düsseldorf regarding the creation of a dedicated space for social and cultural activities, specifying that this project can be concretized as soon as the necessary conditions are met.

Comprehensive Support for Summer Return

In his speech, the Tunisian Ambassador to Berlin, Wassef Chiha, highlighted the particular attention given to Tunisians abroad, as part of the national policy aimed at facilitating their stay in host countries, strengthening their link with Tunisia, and promoting their involvement in national dynamics. He emphasized the importance of these meetings, which allow for informing the diaspora of new measures adopted in their favor and collecting their concerns and proposals, with a view to providing concerted responses with the concerned institutions.

For his part, the Tunisian Consul General in Düsseldorf, Mustapha Ziri, reaffirmed the consular mission's commitment to working towards the gathering of the Tunisian community and strengthening its attachment to the country, in order to enable it to contribute actively to the development and reform process underway in Tunisia.

The meeting, marked by strong participation from community members, allowed for the presentation of the main provisions put in place to facilitate the summer return, including air and sea transport, customs incentives, social coverage, investment encouragement, and promotion of the Tunisian tourist destination. It also gave rise to exchanges around the supervision of young generations of Tunisians abroad, particularly with regard to the teaching of the Arabic language and the creation of adapted cultural and social spaces.

In this regard, a representative of the Ministry of Education indicated that work is underway to finalize an electronic platform dedicated to teaching the Arabic language to children of the diaspora, with the aim of strengthening their national identity and attachment to Tunisia.

At the end of the meeting, the participants welcomed the organization of this initiative, which allowed them to inform themselves about the preparations for the summer return 2026 and obtain direct answers to their concerns, in a climate of exchange and listening.
