National Agriculture Day: A Tent Sale from Producer to Consumer

In celebration of National Agriculture Day, the inter-professional groups and the Office of Domanial Lands, under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries, are organizing a "from producer to consumer" tent sale. The event will take place on Habib Bourguiba Avenue in Tunis from May 12 to 16, 2026.

According to a statement given to the TAP agency, Tarek Tira, the deputy director of export development at the Inter-Professional Group of Fruits (GiFruits), explained that the products will be offered at prices close to those of wholesale markets to provide the best prices for citizens.

On a 450 square meter surface, around 20 exhibitors and producers from the fruit, date, vegetable, meat, poultry, and fishing industries will offer a wide range of fresh products over five days. Visitors will be able to find seasonal fruits and vegetables, poultry, cheeses, fish, olive oil, and processed products such as fishing derivatives, apricot and date derivatives, and grape juice.

The spokesperson emphasized that the exhibitors have committed to respecting preferential prices to mark this national celebration, also known as the Agricultural Evacuation Festival. He concluded by inviting citizens to come in large numbers to enjoy these high-quality products at very competitive prices.

Tunisia celebrates National Agriculture Day every May 12, coinciding this year with the 62nd anniversary of the Agricultural Evacuation, which took place on May 12, 1964.
