Poland Introduces Fully Digital System for EU Residence Permit Applications
Effective April 27, 2026
Poland has officially implemented a fully digital system for temporary, permanent, and long-term residence permit applications for the European Union. As of April 27, 2026, all applications must be submitted exclusively through the electronic platform MOS (Moduł Obsługi Spraw), according to the Polish Office for Foreigners (UDSC).
This new system, launched by Polish authorities, aims to modernize and centralize immigration procedures by gradually replacing paper-based processes and physical submissions to administrative services. The platform allows applicants to create an online account, fill out forms, upload required documents, and track the progress of their application remotely.
According to the UDSC, the primary goal of this reform is to improve administrative efficiency, reduce processing times, and enhance transparency in procedures. Applications are now processed as soon as they are electronically submitted, enabling better tracking and centralized management of files.
The authorities emphasize that applications submitted in paper form after April 27, 2026, will no longer be considered, except for limited exceptions outlined in the regulations, such as in certain family or humanitarian cases.
This reform applies to all non-EU citizens, regardless of nationality. Tunisians, like other third-country nationals, are directly affected by this new procedure and must obtain or renew their residence permit in Poland through the digital platform.
The Polish authorities highlight that this digital transition is part of a broader strategy to modernize public administration and digitalize migration-related services, which has been underway for several years.
The MOS system marks the gradual end of traditional in-person procedures for residence permits, replacing them with a fully online model accessible remotely and integrated with Polish digital identity tools.
