Road Safety Meeting Held in Sousse Governorate
A working session on road safety was held yesterday at the headquarters of the Sousse Governorate, focusing on the removal of illegal speed bumps and the securing of school surroundings.
Yamen Bayya Chatti, President of the Eastern Branch of the National Road Safety Observatory, told Jawhara FM that the meeting discussed speed bumps installed without the approval of the road safety commission. It was decided to remove random installations and repair those put in place with approval but not meeting technical standards. These speed bumps will be inspected across the entire governorate, covering 16 delegations.
The meeting also resulted in the creation of a commission to control motorcycle manufacturers, in order to verify the compliance of their vehicles with technical standards, in a context marked by a high number of accidents involving two-wheelers.
