National Council of Regions and Districts Focuses on Energy Transition

The agenda included the voting of five essential draft laws aimed at approving concession agreements for solar electricity production and site installation contracts.

Widespread Solar Expansion in Multiple Governorates

The first draft law submitted for voting, Law Project No. 01 of 2026, concerns the El Khobna photovoltaic power plant. It proposes the validation of the concession agreement and the modalities for leasing the land.

The momentum continues with Law Project No. 02, focusing on the Mezzouna power plant in Sidi Bouzid Governorate, and Law Project No. 03 dedicated to the Metlaoui (El Ksar) infrastructure. Finally, the council will deliberate on Law Projects No. 04 and No. 05 related to the Segdoud and Menzel Habib power plants. For the Segdoud site, the agreement specifically includes the management of the exploitation site's land.
