Construction of Regional Hospital Begins in Jelma, Sidi Bouzid

Construction work on the new Regional Hospital of category "B" in the delegation of Jelma, under the governorate of Sidi Bouzid, commenced yesterday, Wednesday, November 19, 2025. This new healthcare project aims to bring healthcare services closer to citizens and improve the quality of care in the region.

Project Details

According to the health services of Sidi Bouzid, the hospital will be built on an area of 5 hectares and 800 square meters, with a covered surface area of 13,717 square meters. A total estimated cost of 83 million dinars has been allocated to the project, covering construction and equipment, with a completion period of 26 months.

Hospital Facilities

The new hospital will include:

  • External consultations
  • Emergency services
  • General services and administration department
  • Pediatrics department
  • General surgery unit
  • Three operating rooms
  • Laboratory
  • Pharmacy

This new healthcare facility is expected to alleviate pressure on the University Hospital of Sidi Bouzid and provide effective and proximity healthcare services to the inhabitants of the Jelma delegation and surrounding areas.

Official Launch

The Governor of the region officially launched the project in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Equipment and representatives of regional administrations. This project is part of a partnership between the Tunisian state and Kuwait through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
