National Arbitration Administration Releases VAR Room Recordings
The National Arbitration Administration has made public the recordings of the exchanges that took place in the VAR room during the match between Club Sportif Sfaxien and Club Africain, a game marked by controversy at the end. In a special program dedicated to this match, Mourad Ben Hamza, Director of the National Arbitration Administration, acknowledged that international referee Haythem Guirat "rushed" into validating the goal scored by Club Africain in the 87th minute. This goal, scored by Kadida, allowed Club Africain to equalize. However, the sequence sparked a wide debate due to the presence of Chaouat in an offside position at the time of the action. This situation was later confirmed by Jamal Haimoudi, General Supervisor of the Tunisian refereeing sector. During this match, Haythem Guirat was in charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room, along with his assistant Oussama Chraïet, while Faraj Abdellaoui officiated as the central referee. Mourad Ben Hamza also announced that the program "La Maviola", dedicated to analyzing refereeing decisions, will now be broadcast every week. The release of the recordings related to Club Africain's equalizing goal is the first sequence of this program, which aims to promote transparency. The released recordings include the dialogue between Haythem Guirat and the central referee at the time of the goal validation, in a context of tension and protest on the field.
