Successful Seizure of Cocaine at Ras Jdir Border Crossing
As part of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking into Tunisian territory, the customs services at the Ras Jdir border crossing have successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a significant quantity of cocaine. The drugs were carefully concealed in a vehicle bearing a foreign registration, which was intercepted during entry procedures into Tunisia.
Details of the Operation
The vehicle was first subjected to a scanner check, which revealed the presence of a specially designed hiding place inside. A thorough search was then conducted, leading to the discovery of 5 cocaine plates, with a total weight of approximately 5.5 kg (including packaging).
Judicial Procedure
A seizure report was drawn up for this case. After consulting the Public Prosecutor's Office, it was ordered to transmit the file to specialized security services to continue the investigation and shed light on this trafficking.
