Approach of Ramadan: Ellouhoum Announces Availability of Local Red Meat

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Ellouhoum company has announced the availability of quantities of local red meat, including lamb and beef, at a price of 42.9 dinars per kilogram. Sales will be made directly at the company's headquarters, in volumes adapted to meet the needs of citizens.

This initiative is part of the preparations for Ramadan and aims to regulate the supply of red meat in the domestic market, while offering more affordable prices, adapted to the purchasing power of consumers.

The president of the Butchers' Chamber of the Union of Industry, Trade, and Crafts (UTICA), Ahmed Amiri, has made an urgent appeal to the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, to allow butchers to supply meat through private companies or Ellouhoum. The goal is to ensure that Tunisians have access to meat during Ramadan at fair prices.

Amiri emphasized that the current prices for red meat are "exorbitant and worrying," with rates exceeding 65 dinars per kilogram for lamb in some regions and 58 dinars for beef. According to him, a price increase could occur during Ramadan, exceeding 70 dinars per kilogram for lamb, due to a deficit of around 35% in imports of refrigerated meat compared to the same period before the previous Ramadan.

This operation by Ellouhoum is expected to contribute to stabilizing the market and meeting the growing demands of consumers during a period of high consumption of red meat, while limiting the effects of speculation on prices.
