Spectacular Opening for the Medina Festival: Young Zied Mehdi to Perform at the Inaugural Evening of the 42nd Edition

The 42nd edition of the Medina Festival is set to kick off with a bang, featuring young talent Zied Mehdi and his show "Dans les jardins des amoureux" (In the Gardens of Lovers) on the inaugural evening. This marks a first in the history of the Ramadan festival, announced on Friday during a press conference at the Tahar Haddad Cultural Club.

The president of the festival association, Chadly Ben Younès, and his team unveiled a program that bets on new talent while relying on established values. The festival will close with a performance by Nabiha Karaouli, a diva who was discovered at the same festival, symbolically closing the loop.

A major advantage of this edition is the exceptional reopening of the municipal theater during Ramadan, which was initially scheduled for maintenance. This addition joins the three historic spaces of the medina - Dar El Asram, Bir El Ahjar school, and the Tahar Haddad Club - which anchor the festival in its territory of origin.

However, the Sainte-Croix church, which was reintegrated last year, will not be used this time due to technical issues that affected the quality of the performances.

120 Applications for a Demanding Selection

The organizers received 120 proposals for shows, and the final selection reflects a double ambition: to give young talents a chance and to guarantee attendance with popular headliners.

The opening also extends to the regions, with cultural clubs from Bizerte and Sfax participating in the performances, expanding the national scope of the event beyond the capital.

Tributes and Solidarity

Two figures will be celebrated: the spirit of Fadhel Jaziri through the show "La Hadhra", and the artist Zied Gharsa for his career, which began on the festival's stages.

Faithful to its social commitment, the festival will dedicate a portion of the proceeds from one of the shows to the pediatric surgery department of the Nabeul hospital, via the Carthage for the Horizon association, for the third consecutive year.
