A Breath of Fresh Air for Tunisia’s Ramadan TV Drama Landscape
Tunisian viewers will have an abundance of choices this Ramadan, thanks to a strong comeback of TV stars who kept a low profile in recent years.
National channels have unveiled a diverse schedule that mixes dramatic fiction with comedic series. The event is highlighted by highly anticipated returns, such as Atef Ben Hassine re‑appearing on Al Watania 1 with “Rouh Errouh”, where he wears three hats – actor, director and screenwriter. He shares the screen with Jouda Najah, who is also returning after a hiatus from the small screen.
At the same time, Kaouther Belhaj joins Bassam Hamraoui, Naïma El Jani and Arwa Ben Ismail in the sitcom “Hedhi Ekhretha” broadcast on El Hiwar El Tounsi.
Behind the Camera
The comeback is not limited to on‑screen talent. Sami Fehri returns behind the camera, directing and co‑writing with Sadok Halouas and Bilel Missaoui. Beyond its humor, “Hedhi Ekhretha” weaves an intelligent, captivating plot with a satirical tone, offering a blend that is both light‑hearted and profound.
The series relies on a fast‑paced rhythm, unpredictable situations and characters that will surprise the audience from the very first episode. After this program, the schedule continues with “El Khottifa”, directed by Sawsan Jemni.
“El Khottifa” gathers a prestigious cast that includes Rim Riahi, Lamia Amri, Mohamed Mourad and Farès Abdeddayem.
Nessma El Jadida
Viewers of Nessma El Jadida can look forward to the second season of “Sahbek Rajel”, starring Karim Gharbi, Sofiène Dahech, Yassine Ben Gamra, Slah Msadek, Younes Ferhi and Kaouther Bardi.
The channel will also air the drama “Accident”, headlined by Nidhal Saadi and supported by Mohamed Ali Ben Jemaa, Aziz Jebali, Chawki Bouglia and Feryel Graja, who has been based in Egypt for some time.
Talvza TV
With the series “Ghibouba” (Coma), Talvza TV presents a production that brings together a host of talents, including the renowned Mouna Noureddine, Slah Msadek, Kaouther Bardi, Meriam Ben Mami, Jamel Madani, Chakira Rammeh, Maram Ben Aziza and Najla Ben Abdallah.
Attessia TV
Attessia TV will broadcast the drama “Clash”. Promoted in its teasers as “the first series dedicated to the rap world in the Arab world,” the project features a lineup of actors such as the gifted Fatma Ben Saïdane and Ahmed Landolsi, a duo the audience has not seen on television for a while.
Al Watania 1
Al Watania 1 also offers the drama “El Hak, El Hak”, where Fethi Mselmani, Zouhair Raies, Wahida Dridi, Amel Alouane, Fatiha Mahdaoui and Dorsaf Mamlouk return to Ramadan‑themed productions.
The national broadcaster further presents the series “Bab El Bnet”, starring the great Mouna Noureddine and the talented Wajiha Jendoubi, who plays both mother and daughter, transporting viewers back to the 1970s.
Finally, the soap opera “Hayat”, also aired on the primary national channel, brings together Saleh Jedy, Jamel Madani, Sawsen Maalej and Rim Bin Messaoud, and marks the grand return of Mohamed Amine Hamzaoui to the small screen.
