Ministry of Commerce and Export Development Reports 1,381 Economic Violations in the First Two Days of Ramadan 2026

The Ministry of Commerce and Export Development announced that 1,381 economic violations were recorded during the first two days of Ramadan 2026, following 7,056 control operations carried out across the various regions of the country.

In a statement released on Saturday, the ministry specified that the number of recorded violations rose by 1.5 % compared with the same period of Ramadan 2025, highlighting the persistence of certain irregular practices in the markets.

At the same time, 20 complaints were logged during this period. These complaints mainly concern supply chain disruptions, price issues, and the quality of certain consumer goods.

The ministry affirmed that economic control campaigns will continue throughout the month of Ramadan, with the aim of:

  • Combating speculative practices,
  • Ensuring transparency in commercial transactions, and
  • Preserving consumers’ purchasing power.
