Zionist Military Aid Agency, Cogat, Announces Preparations to Open Rafah Crossing for Gaza

The Zionist military aid agency, Cogat, announced on Thursday that preparations are underway with Egypt to open the Rafah crossing point for Gaza, with the date to be announced later.

The Zionist entity had previously threatened to keep the Rafah crossing point closed and limit the delivery of aid to the Palestinian enclave, citing that Hamas was taking too long to return the bodies of deceased hostages.

Under the ceasefire agreement signed last week under US auspices, the Palestinian armed group, which has already released the living hostages, is required to hand over the bodies of the deceased to the Zionist entity.

Cogat, which oversees aid flows into the Gaza Strip, stated that the Rafah crossing point will be opened for the movement of people, but humanitarian aid will continue to enter the territory through other crossing points on the border with the Zionist entity.

"It is worth noting that humanitarian aid will not pass through the Rafah crossing point. This was never agreed upon at any point," Cogat said in a statement to Reuters.

Two sources told Reuters on Wednesday that the Rafah crossing point is expected to be opened to people starting from Thursday.
