Customs Agents Seize Large Drug Shipment at Radès Port
Customs agents at the Radès port intercepted a cargo shipment containing nearly 10 million drug tablets on Monday, hidden inside a container from a European country. The seized goods are estimated to be worth 17 million dinars, according to a judicial source cited by Diwan FM.
Investigation Underway
Following the discovery, the prosecutor's office near the Ben Arous Court of First Instance ordered the opening of a judicial investigation and the appointment of an investigating judge to further investigate the matter. Meanwhile, the anti-drug units of the Ben Arous National Guard's subordinate administration have been tasked with pursuing the investigation.
Sophisticated Smuggling Method
According to initial reports, the tablets were carefully concealed among imported electrical appliances and cooking equipment. This seizure is considered one of the largest at the Radès port in recent years, highlighting the extent of attempts to traffic narcotics into the Tunisian market.
