Customs Agents Seize Large Drug Shipment at Radès Port
Customs agents at the Radès port intercepted a shipment containing nearly 10 million drug tablets on Monday, hidden inside a container from a European country. The value of the seized goods is estimated at 17 million dinars, according to a judicial source cited by Diwan FM.
Investigation Underway
Following the discovery, the prosecutor's office near the Court of First Instance of Ben Arous ordered the opening of a judicial investigation and the appointment of an investigating judge to further investigate the matter. Meanwhile, units of the anti-drug administration subordinate to the National Guard of Ben Arous have been seized of the case to pursue the investigations.
Sophisticated Smuggling Method
According to initial information, the tablets were carefully hidden among imported electrical appliances and cooking equipment. This seizure is considered one of the largest made at the Radès port in recent years and highlights the extent of attempts to traffic narcotics into the Tunisian market.
