Date Festival Kicks Off in Tunis
The "Month of Dates, from Producer to Consumer" festivities began this Thursday, November 20, 2025, on Habib Bourguiba Avenue in Tunis.
Event Organization
The event is organized by the Interprofessional Group of Dates (GID), under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries, as indicated by the regional director of the group, Yadh Ben Hmed.
Festival Duration and Objectives
The festival will run from November 20 to December 7, 2025, and aims to:
- Strengthen the promotion of Tunisian dates on the local market
- Encourage their consumption
- Support small producers by offering them a sales space with better commercial conditions
- Allow consumers to access high-quality products at prices adapted to their purchasing power
Participation and Offer
According to Ben Hmed, 40 exhibitors from the governorates of Kébili and Tozeur are participating in this edition. They offer premium varieties of dates, with prices around 7 dinars per kilo, as part of a framed offer that facilitates the sale of a national production renowned for its quality.
