Transportation Ministry Takes Steps to Ease Congestion
Wassim Taquia, the official in charge of regular passenger transportation, confirmed that the Ministry of Transportation is working to implement a special programming during peak hours, with shorter intervals between trips to alleviate pressure. He also indicated that coordination work is underway with ministries and regional authorities to review school and university schedules.
According to the official, the ministry is working on digitizing the school and university subscription system. This will facilitate their acquisition and reduce the hassle associated with travel. Additionally, a project is underway to inform citizens, via a mobile application, of changes to routes or schedules. This project will first be launched in the Greater Tunis area before being extended to other regions.
