President of the Republic Emphasizes Need for Accountability in Public Services

In the context of monitoring daily affairs in the country, the President of the Republic has consistently stressed the importance for all officials to fully assume their roles in order to positively respond to the aspirations of citizens across all regions of the country without any discrimination.

President Kaïs Saïed Conducts Surprise Visits to Cap Bon Region

In this context, the Head of State continued to monitor surprise visits by traveling to several delegations in the Cap Bon region, including "Marsa Al Oumara", "Al Mangaa", and "Retiba", in the village of Takelsa, before heading to Korbous. During this tour, President Saïed was able to observe numerous infractions and shortcomings related to public domain, while meeting with residents of these localities who shared their grievances and concerns with him.

Unfinished Road Project and Educational Institution Deficiencies

A sad conclusion was drawn regarding the project to connect Nabeul to Kélibia, as the works have not been completed despite eight years having passed since 2018, with no progress made despite the existence of allocated funding, as stated in the Presidential Palace's communiqué. In addition, in Beni Khiar, where he visited on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, the Head of State observed other shortcomings at the Béni Khiar college, which requires the immediate execution of renovation and maintenance works to ensure the safety of students and provide better study conditions, given that the tragic memories of the collapse of certain walls in other educational institutions are still vivid.

President Saïed Meets with Prime Minister to Discuss Public Service Failures

In the face of the multitude of failures recorded, President Kaïs Saïed immediately headed to the Government Palace in La Kasbah, where he met with Prime Minister Sarra Zaâfrani Zenzri to share, with insistence, the numerous dysfunctions recorded within public services, which are becoming intolerable.

President Saïed Emphasizes Need for Accountability and Urgent Action

He stressed that the persistence of this immobilism at various levels has become unacceptable, if not unsustainable, especially since warnings and other alerts have been addressed to the different officials responsible for public services. Furthermore, the Head of State emphasized that the national liberation war, to which he accords absolute priority, cannot continue without the help and support of officials who believe in the obligation to completely break away from the residues of an odious past and join the people and their rights to a prosperous future through a clear improvement in daily living conditions.

President Saïed's Patience Wears Thin

It is worth noting that this is not the first time the President of the Republic has emphasized the need to break with the practices and reflexes of the past, but it is clear that this time, the President's patience seems to be at an end, given the administrative delays and the harm to citizens' interests. In fact, President Saïed could not be more direct in addressing firm warnings, if not ultimatums, to failing officials, sending them clear signals while threatening to replace them with patriotic competencies in order to concretize the state's objectives and positively respond to citizens' demands.

President Saïed's Previous Warnings

Recall that the President of the Republic had already warned, just a month ago, that those who do not honor their obligations will be replaced, while insisting on a zero-tolerance policy towards "deficient or de facto resigned" officials and mentioning the possibility of calling on "patriotic competencies" to ensure a smooth transition.
