National Council of Public Accounts Standards Approves New Projects
The National Council of Public Accounts Standards (CNNCP) met on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Michket Slama Khaldi and approved a series of interpretive opinion projects and public accounts standards.
Approved Projects
Regarding public accounts standards, the CNNCP validated the following projects:
- The state accounts standard "treasury components"
- The state accounts standard "treasury flow table"
- The local authorities accounting standard "presentation of financial statements"
- The public institutions accounts standard governed by the public accounting code "corporate assets"
Interpretive Opinion Project
The council also approved an interpretive opinion project on state charges.
Minister's Statement
During the meeting, the Finance Minister emphasized the importance of completing the modernization and development process of the state's accounting system in the face of challenges Tunisia is facing in terms of good public finance management. She stressed the need to rely on modern accounting standards that allow for the keeping of public accounts and the preparation of financial statements that accurately and faithfully reflect the state's financial situation and financial performance. This will meet the needs of financial information users, support decision-making, and strengthen financial transparency.
Call for Coordination
The Minister also called for continued coordination and joint action among all concerned parties to accelerate the development of the public finance information system and enable the effective implementation of these standards.
