New Joint Decree on Professional Training Grants
A new joint decree by the Minister of Employment and Professional Training and the Minister of Finance was published today, Friday, in the Official Journal, number 112. This text stipulates that the professional training grant will now be paid monthly to its beneficiaries by the Tunisian Agency for Professional Training, only after verifying their attendance and presence in training programs.
Key Changes to the Grant Payment System
This new decision repeals Article 5 of the decree of June 21, 2013, which fixed the amount of the grant. The old article provided that the payment would be made monthly, with a deduction in case of absence.
Background on the 2013 Decree
For reference, the 2013 decree set the monthly amount of the grant at 60 dinars. Its allocation was reserved for young people from families whose annual gross income did not exceed 10,000 dinars. The new decree introduces a more stringent verification process to ensure that beneficiaries are actively participating in training programs before receiving the grant.
