The Director General of Vocational Training Development at the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, Béchir Ayari, has stated that 25,000 training requests out of a total of 70,000 have been fulfilled during the 2025-2026 training year, highlighting that this is linked to the capacity of training centers.

Key Statistics and Initiatives

  • Ayari added that the private vocational training system covers 13 sectors and nearly 400 specialties, contributing to around 40,000 training positions, including 25,700 in the framework of standardized training provided by 5,200 private training institutions, with 320 operating under equivalence.
  • He specified that the training certificates issued by the national vocational training system, whether public or private, include the Certificate of Professional Aptitude (CAP), the Professional Technician Certificate (BTP), the Higher Technician Certificate (BTS), and the recently added Competence Certificate.

Verification Process for Private Training Institutions

  • Ayari emphasized that a private vocational training institution can verify whether it has obtained a receipt for its file submission to the Regional Directorate by either contacting the Directorate or consulting the list of approved specialties for each governorate, available on the official pages of the Regional Directorates.

Reform Project for the Vocational Training Sector

  • Ayari indicated that one of the main axes of the vocational training sector reform project is to align with professional reality, ensure quality and compliance with international standards, and contribute to employability, stressing the need for laws and decisions related to the vocational training sector to be applicable in the field.
