Tunisia has been living through a new era of reforms and revisions of certain reference frameworks since the advent of President Kaïs Saïed to the highest office, with the aim of establishing social stability on solid foundations.
The President's Vision for a Social State
Indeed, through successive reforms and well-thought-out measures, the President of the Republic has demonstrated his commitment to establishing a social state where the aspirations of the people represent the heart and ultimate goal of all actions in various domains of national dynamics.
During a recent meeting with the Head of Government, the President emphasized that social stability is a necessary condition for any political stability, which is why it is essential to respond positively to the demands of citizens in order to live a dignified and decent life.
Responsibility of Public Officials
This requires the duty of public officials at the national, regional, and local levels to resolve problems and smooth out difficulties. In other words, officials must be up to the task of fulfilling their responsibilities in accordance with the state's orientations while respecting their commitments and demonstrating competence.
Challenges to Social Stability
It is worth noting that social stability cannot be achieved without a fair and adequate treatment of files related to public services and "proximity" files, such as healthcare, transportation, and education, which unfortunately suffer from a mediocre situation due to a less-than-illustrious heritage.
The President's Reiteration of the Importance of Social Stability
In this spirit, the President has repeatedly emphasized the importance of the correlation between social and political stability, while highlighting the need to succeed in achieving social stability as a crucial prerequisite for creating wealth, without forgetting to rethink laws with a militant mindset in order to respond favorably to the people's aspirations.
Concretizing the Option
Within this framework, the Head of State has taken numerous decisions to concretize this option by introducing improvements to the Labor Code, including multiple measures in favor of construction workers, agricultural workers, and all social categories facing precariousness and marginalization.
The Project of Decree Prohibiting Subcontracting in the Public Sector
It is worth mentioning that the President has also taken a decision to prohibit subcontracting in the public sector, accompanied by an immediate decision to dissolve the Itissalia Services company and integrate its agents into the structures where they work.
The President's Stance on Subcontracting
The President describes these practices as a form of "disguised servitude" imposed on thousands of workers, denouncing half-measures and advocating for a clear break, qualifying this battle as a "national liberation war" to be fought on all fronts.

This is why the President continues to reaffirm the irreversibility of the social state option and his unwavering commitment to fighting relentlessly for equitable development, which cannot be achieved without a transparent and just framework, especially since our country has abundant resources and remarkable skills, knowing that the Tunisian people, strengthened by their past struggles, remain resolute to move forward and triumph despite obstacles.
