President Kais Saïed Meets with a Delegation of PhD Holders

On Monday afternoon, September 1, President Kais Saïed received a delegation of doctorate holders.

During the meeting, the Head of State revisited the deep‑rooted reasons that have led to the current situation endured by PhD graduates in Tunisia.

In this context, he reiterated that competitive examinations remain the key pathway for any recruitment process, provided they are surrounded by the necessary guarantees that ensure transparency and equal treatment of candidates.

According to an official communiqué, President Saïed again emphasized that Tunisian talent—whether PhD holders or university graduates who have been long‑term unemployed—is often full of enthusiasm and proudly ready to assume responsibility. He promised to open broad prospects for them in the future.

He further assured that these competencies will now replace the failing officials who, moreover, act as conduits for lobby groups within several public services of the State. He warned anyone who persists in aggravating the situation and prolonging the suffering of administrative users that Tunisia “has no more need for them.”
