Tunisian Entrepreneurs Face Economic Challenges, ONE President Says
Majority of Tunisian Businesses Struggle Economically
The President of the National Organisation of Entrepreneurs (ONE), Yassine Gouiaa, has stated that the majority of Tunisia's 825,000 businesses, particularly small structures, are facing real economic difficulties.
38,000 Businesses Go Bankrupt Annually
He specifically highlighted that 38,000 businesses go bankrupt each year due to financial difficulties.
Launch of "Waad 2" Programme
Regarding the "Waad 2" programme launched today by the organisation, Mr. Gouiaa explained that it will span an 8-month period.
Supporting Young Entrepreneurs
This project aims to accompany young university graduates and vocational training centre graduates in creating their projects, while strengthening entrepreneurship culture in Tunisia through the organisation of training cycles.
Doubling Support for Young Entrepreneurs
He also added that the first edition of the programme allowed for the support of 50 project ideas, and that this second edition aims to double that number.
Note: "Waad" is an Arabic word meaning "promise" or "commitment", which is likely the inspiration behind the programme's name.
