Tunisian President Receives Key Officials to Discuss Economic and Security Issues
The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received several key officials yesterday afternoon, September 22, at the Carthage Palace, including Khaled Nouri, Minister of the Interior, Mourad Saidane, Director General of the National Security, and Hussine Gharbi, Director General and Commander of the National Guard.
Discussion on Economic Issues
During the meeting, the Head of State emphasized that the fight against monopolies, speculation, and price increases will not be limited to occasional campaigns broadcast once or twice a year in news bulletins. He specified that this is an ongoing state policy aimed at definitively eliminating these criminal practices and reforming distribution channels.
President Kaïs Saïed stressed the need for this policy to produce concrete results that are noticeable by citizens in their daily lives, benefiting both farmers and consumers. He instructed that full legal responsibility be engaged for anyone failing to meet their obligations, leaving farmers and citizens vulnerable to criminal networks.
Security Around Schools and Institutes
Additionally, the President called for enhanced security around schools and institutes, particularly to combat drug trafficking and any threats targeting the Tunisian state and society. This move aims to ensure a safer environment for students and citizens, while also protecting the country's institutions and social fabric.
