Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries Launches Olive Oil Storage Program

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries announced on Sunday the launch of the olive oil storage program for private entities (farmers, oil mill owners, exporters) implemented by the National Olive Oil Board (ONH).

Program Details

To implement this program, the ministry specified that a storage premium of 300 dinars per ton of olive oil will be granted to oil mill owners and olive oil exporters. Additionally, a premium of 330 dinars per ton of olive oil will be awarded to farmers.

Background

This private sector olive oil storage program was launched following a decision by the Restricted Ministerial Council held on October 25, 2025, which focused on examining preparations for the 2025/2026 olive oil campaign. The Council tasked the ONH with implementing a storage program for 100 to 150 thousand tons of olive oil with sector operators, if needed, for a period of three months, with the provision of a storage premium and an additional subsidy for farmers.

Call to Action

Stakeholders in the olive oil sector are invited to contact the central and regional services of the ONH to obtain the necessary information and submit their storage applications.
