Tunisian tennis player Moez Echargui, currently ranked 146th in the world, has impressively qualified for the quarterfinals of the Pau Challenger tournament in France. On Thursday, he dominated Slovakian player Lukas Klein (150th in the world) in two straight sets, winning 6-2, 6-2.
Echargui has confirmed his excellent form after eliminating German player Justin Engel (194th in the world) in the previous round, winning 7-6, 6-4.
A Franco-Tunisian Duel Ahead
To secure a spot in the semifinals, the Tunisian player will face Frenchman Clément Tabur. The local player, ranked 213th in the ATP rankings, earned his quarterfinal spot by defeating Spanish player Martin Landaluce (155th in the world) in two sets, 6-3, 6-3.
