The Assembly of People's Representatives (Parliament) will hold a plenary session on Monday at 10:00 a.m. for a dialogue with two government members, Minister of Health Mustapha Ferjani and Minister of Equipment and Housing Salah Zouari, to discuss "the situation in the Gabès region," according to a statement released by the Council on Saturday.

Background

The Bureau of the Assembly of People's Representatives had decided, during its meeting last Thursday, to organize a dialogue session with the Head of Government or their representative on Monday, October 20, 2025, "as an expression of solidarity and sympathy with the inhabitants of Gabès regarding the catastrophic environmental situation caused by the production units of the chemical complex in the region," according to the Council's statement.
