Pig Heads Found Outside Mosques in Paris, Authorities Condemn Insult to Muslims
The French authorities announced on Tuesday that pig heads had been discovered outside several mosques in Paris and its outskirts, denouncing an insult to Muslims. The Paris police prefecture specified that an investigation had been immediately opened. "We are doing everything possible to identify the perpetrators of these heinous acts," wrote Police Prefect Laurent Nuñez on the X platform. According to the Paris prosecutor's office, pig heads were found outside at least two mosques in the capital and another outside a place of worship outside the city. A suitcase containing a pig's head was also reported near a mosque located north of Paris. The prosecutor's office added that the word "Macron" was painted in blue on one of the sites, referring to President Emmanuel Macron, who is currently facing a political and financial crisis. Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau firmly condemned these acts and called for respect for freedom of worship: "I want our Muslim fellow citizens to be able to practice their religion in peace, and I understand their feeling of hurt," he stated.
