Tunisian athlete Yassine Gharbi secured the bronze medal in the 800m T54 event on Sunday, achieving his best performance of the season, at the ongoing World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, India. Gharbi completed the distance in 1 minute 31 seconds 53 centiseconds, finishing behind Chinese athlete Jin Hua, who claimed the gold medal and broke the world record with a time of 1 minute 27 seconds 04 centiseconds. The silver medal was awarded to another Chinese athlete, Dai Yunkiang, who also achieved his best performance of the season with a time of 1 minute 31 seconds 46 centiseconds. This marks the ninth medal won by Tunisia in these World Championships, consisting of 2 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals. The two gold medals were won by Raoua Tlili in the discus throw (F41) and Yassine Gharbi in the 400m wheelchair racing (T54) events. The four silver medals were secured by Yassine Guenichi in the shot put (F36), Marwa Brahmi in the club throw (F32), Mohamed Nidal Khleifi in the 800m (T53), and AmenAllah Tissaoui in the 1500m (T38) events.
