Organic Agriculture Export Revenues Reach 800 Million Dinars

The revenues from organic agriculture exports for the past season have reached 800 million dinars. This was confirmed by Ms. Zahra Ben Ammar, General Engineer and Director of Control and Orientation at the Ministry of Agriculture, during her intervention on National Radio on Thursday, December 25, 2025.

Zahra Ben Ammar described the financial revenues generated by organic exports during the 2024-2025 season as "very important". She specified that financial indicators are expected to progress further during the current season (2025-2026), given the quality of the harvest, particularly for olives and dates.

Ambitious Goals

She also revealed that Tunisia aims to increase the area dedicated to organic agriculture to 500,000 hectares by 2030.

Incentives for Investment

The guest highlighted that the Tunisian state offers benefits and incentives to those who wish to invest in the organic sector. The main advantage consists of a 50% grant when creating a project.

Sector Overview

Zahra Ben Ammar indicated that the sector has around 7,000 stakeholders. She called on all actors in the sector to preserve the integrity of their products and strictly respect standards to avoid any shortcomings that could harm Tunisia's reputation internationally.

Solution to Climate Challenges

Finally, the official stated that organic agriculture is one of the solutions to address climate challenges, specifying that this mode of cultivation actively contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
