Ooredoo Tunisia Boosts Support for Vulnerable Families with Sustainable Development Initiative

As part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment, Ooredoo Tunisia has chosen this year—through its “Tounes T3ich” program—to deepen its assistance to families in need. The telecom operator is launching a sustainable‑development project aimed at improving beneficiaries’ financial situation and providing long‑term income opportunities.

From One‑Off Aid to Sustainable Growth

Rather than limiting itself to occasional donations, Ooredoo Tunisia, in partnership with the Soli & Green association, is delivering both financial and material support to several Agricultural Development Groups (Groupements de Développement Agricole – GDAs) located in:

  • Nefza
  • Aïn Draham
  • Zaghouan
  • Tunis
  • Takelsa
  • Mannouba

These nine GDAs bring together approximately 400 farmers, the majority of whom are rural women. Consequently, nearly 400 Tunisian families will directly benefit from the initiative.

What the Support Includes

The assistance is designed to strengthen and expand agricultural and agri‑food processing activities by providing essential equipment such as:

  • Beehives
  • Drying racks
  • Electric oil‑presses for extraction
  • Distillers
  • Additional tools for valorising local products, improving production quality, and increasing revenues

Key Product Sectors

Beneficiary GDAs are active in a variety of high‑value‑added value chains, including:

  • Dried plants
  • Honey
  • Essential oils (rose water, geranium, etc.)
  • Preserved traditional food products
  • Olive oil
  • Carob
  • Spices
  • Other premium agricultural products

This approach reinforces the social and solidarity economy, while supporting local value‑chain development.

Alignment with Ooredoo Tunisia’s CSR Vision

The project fits squarely within Ooredoo Tunisia’s strategic CSR vision, which focuses on:

  • Sustainable development
  • Empowerment of rural women
  • Strengthening local economies through concrete solutions that guarantee financial autonomy and lasting impact

CEO Statement

Eyas Assaf, CEO of Ooredoo Tunisia, said:
“Corporate social responsibility remains a major priority for Ooredoo Tunisia through our ‘Tounes T3ich’ program. This Ramadan, we are proud to support nearly 400 Tunisian families by reinforcing their livelihoods and enabling them to further develop their own activities. With initiatives like this, we aim to improve living conditions, support local communities, and create a durable positive impact in the regions where we operate.”

Through this initiative, Ooredoo Tunisia reaffirms its strong commitment to local communities and the creation of long‑term positive impact, in line with its vision of a more inclusive and resilient society.
