Ooredoo Tunisia Renews Environmental Commitment through Reforestation Efforts

As part of its CSR program "Tounes T3ich", Ooredoo Tunisia announces the continuation and strengthening of its environmental efforts through the relaunch of a vast campaign dedicated to reforestation and restoration of natural areas affected by fires.

Initial Success and National Recognition

In 2023, Ooredoo launched a major operation with the reforestation of 70 hectares in Bargou, an area severely affected by forest fires. The initiative received a very positive response and earned the company national recognition in terms of CSR.

Ambitious New Project

In 2024, Ooredoo unveiled a new ambitious project covering 100 hectares in Béja, also heavily damaged by fires. To date, 100 hectares have been reforested between Bargou and Béja, representing a key step in this multi-year commitment.

Ongoing Commitment

This year, Ooredoo continues its action with the additional reforestation of 30 hectares in the Béja region, affirming its willingness to actively contribute to national forest restoration efforts.

Renewed Environmental Campaign

As the National Tree Day approaches, and in a context marked by strong environmental concern, Ooredoo launches a new campaign to raise awareness about the urgent need to restore areas ravaged by fires. This campaign aims to mobilize the public, strengthen citizen engagement, and highlight the company's ongoing efforts to support Tunisian nature.

CEO Statement

"The restoration of areas destroyed by fires is a national imperative and a commitment that we assume with responsibility," emphasizes Mansoor Rashid Al-Khater, CEO of Ooredoo Tunisia. "Through our CSR program Tounes T3ich, we support concrete actions to give new life to our forests. Together, we can build a greener future for Tunisia."

Ooredoo's Ongoing Environmental Initiatives

Ooredoo Tunisia will continue to strengthen its environmental initiatives under "Tounes T3ich", in collaboration with national authorities and local partners, to preserve biodiversity and restore damaged areas. The company reaffirms its role as a committed player for a sustainable and resilient future.
