Ooredoo Tunisie Announces Partnership with Dora Chamli, Tunisia's Number One Female Padel Player
Ooredoo Tunisie is proud to announce a new partnership with Dora Chamli, the number one female padel player in Tunisia, who has become the first Tunisian to reach the main draw of a Premier Padel tournament. This collaboration illustrates Ooredoo's ongoing commitment to supporting Tunisian youth, promoting emerging sports, and celebrating athletes who shine internationally.
About Dora Chamli
Born in 1996, Dora Chamli discovered padel while studying in Barcelona, where she quickly fell in love with the sport. Upon her return to Tunisia, she became one of the pioneers of women's padel, often training with men due to the lack of female players at the time. Her determination and passion have taken her from local courts to international tournaments, where she now ranks among the top 140 players worldwide, according to the International Padel Federation (FIP) ranking.
A Historic Achievement
In October 2025, at the Premier Padel New Giza P2 tournament in Egypt, Dora Chamli made history in African sports by becoming the first player from the continent to win a match in the main draw of a Premier Padel tournament. She and her partner triumphed over the duo Marcella Koek/Victoria Kurz (6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-1), symbolizing the growing opening of padel to new horizons. Thanks to this performance and her consistent results on the FIP circuit, Dora Chamli has progressed in the world ranking, moving from 149th to 139th place.
Partnership with Ooredoo Tunisie
Through this partnership, Ooredoo Tunisie aims to support Dora in her ascent and inspire young athletes, particularly women, to pursue their dreams and push the boundaries of what is possible. Mansoor Rashid Al-Khater, CEO of Ooredoo Tunisie, stated: "At Ooredoo, we believe in the power of youth, passion, and perseverance to transform society. Dora Chamli embodies the spirit of Tunisia: ambitious, determined, and ready to shine on the world stage. By supporting her journey, we reaffirm our mission: to connect people not only through technology but also through shared dreams and successes."
Dora Chamli's Reaction
Dora Chamli added: "It is a great honor to represent Ooredoo and my country at this key moment in my career. Winning a match in the main draw of a Premier Padel tournament is a dream come true. Ooredoo's support gives me the strength to go even further. I want to show that Tunisian women can succeed on a global scale and inspire others to discover this extraordinary sport."
The Growth of Padel in Tunisia
Padel, a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash, is experiencing spectacular growth in Tunisia. The partnership between Ooredoo Tunisie and Dora Chamli is part of a strategic vision to encourage Tunisian talent, strengthen the country's presence on the international stage, and promote a culture of inclusion and excellence.
