The City of Testour Hosts the 9th Edition of the Pomegranate Festival

The city of Testour, in the governorate of Béja, is organizing the 9th edition of the Pomegranate Festival from October 29 to November 2, 2025. This initiative aims to further enhance the value of this product and anticipates the upcoming obtaining of the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) label.

This festival confirms Testour's position as a major national center for pomegranate production and a cultural beacon that continues to connect new generations to its flourishing Andalusian history. It will span five days, featuring numerous cultural, scientific, and recreational activities.

Festival Program

The festivities will begin on October 29 with an official inauguration, followed by:

  • An exhibition and sale of pomegranate-derived products
  • Scientific colloquiums on the importance of pomegranates
  • In-depth conferences addressing topics related to tourism and Andalusian heritage The evening will be crowned with a grand artistic spectacle animated by a group of Tunisian artists.

On October 30, a scientific conference on "Andalusian Agricultural Practices" will take place, followed by a conference on October 31 by Dr. Ali Tayeb on "Andalusian Water Heritage".

In connection with the economic aspect of the product, a "Promotional Cuisine" (or "terroir cuisine") activity will be held on November 1, presenting Andalusian dishes under the supervision of Tunisian chefs, with the aim of enhancing the pomegranate as an essential ingredient in local cuisine throughout history.

The festival will conclude on November 2 with traditional artistic performances.
