Olive Harvest Season Proceeding at Normal Pace, with 17% Progress to Date
According to the CEO of the National Oil Board, the olive harvest season is unfolding at a normal pace, with a 17% progress recorded so far. In a statement made today, Saturday, December 6, 2025, on national radio, as part of the olive oil information day organized at the Higher School of Commerce in Manouba, on the occasion of World Olive Day, Moez Ben Omar indicated that the pace of harvesting operations is on the rise and that the production peak will occur in the coming weeks. He also stated that the Oil Board is intervening to regulate the market and adjust prices. In this context, he specified that the current prices practiced in oil mills (presses) vary between 11 dinars and 14 dinars per liter of olive oil, depending on the quality, variety, and region. Regarding promotional operations, Moez Ben Omar noted that in view of the expected large harvest (the "harvest"), a national program has been put in place to encourage the consumption of olive oil and promote it locally. He added that efforts are being made to diversify export markets. It is worth noting that the Minister of Agriculture, Ezzedine Ben Cheikh, highlighted in his speech during the launch of the information day that Tunisia exports olive oil to more than 60 countries.
