The Minister of Trade and Export Development, Samir Abid, emphasized on Saturday, October 11, 2025, the need to preserve traditional markets for the promotion of Tunisian olive oil and date exports, while intensifying the opening up to new markets with high potential, particularly in Asia, America, and the Eurasian space.

  • The need to preserve traditional markets and expand into new ones
  • The role of export development in the recovery of the Tunisian economy
  • The implementation of exploratory missions abroad and the development of an integrated promotional program

Speaking at a sectoral coordination meeting dedicated to the preparations for the export seasons of these two strategic sectors, held at the Exporter's House in Tunis, the Minister stressed the importance of a competitive positioning of Tunisia on international markets. Samir Abid specified that preparations were launched earlier this year, in close coordination with all concerned actors, including administrative structures, professional groups, and the private sector.

The Minister also recalled that the development of exports remains a national priority, given its central role in the recovery of the Tunisian economy. He further emphasized the implementation of exploratory missions abroad and the development of an integrated promotional program aimed at enhancing Tunisian products with high added value, particularly olive oil and dates.
