Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training Launches Integrated Information System for Private Vocational Training

The Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training announced on Wednesday the official launch of an integrated information system for managing private vocational training activities, known as "SIGAF", during a press conference held in Tunis. The conference was attended by the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chaouad, representatives of public and private structures, international cooperation partners, representatives of the European Union delegation in Tunisia, and the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII).

Objective of the Project

This project, which is part of the regional cooperation program "For a comprehensive approach to migration and worker mobility management in North Africa (THAMM)", aims to digitize administrative services offered to private vocational training establishments and their partners, including trainers, trainees, and public organizations.

Minister's Statement

The Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chaouad, stated that the launch of this digital system constitutes "a qualitative mutation in the modernization of the vocational training system and the bringing of services closer to citizens". Chaouad emphasized that the "SIGAF" platform is part of the national digitization strategy, and is not just a technical tool, but a strategic platform aimed at unifying databases related to vocational training, ensuring data protection, and facilitating administrative procedures through interaction between public and private establishments.

Implementation Phases

The minister indicated that the implementation of this system will be done in stages. The first phase consists of training regional and central cadres and platform users, such as private training establishments, while the second phase is dedicated to registering training data.

Support and Training

Chaouad assured that the ministry will provide support to stakeholders through training and awareness-raising to ensure optimal use of the system.

European Union Delegation's Statement

The representative of the European Union delegation in Tunisia highlighted that the SIGAF platform illustrates the partnership between the European Union and Tunisia and responds to a common desire to strengthen skills through the development of vocational training systems adapted to the needs of employers. She added that the SIGAF project is a tool that can strengthen the credibility of vocational training certificates and anchor a culture of transparency in the labor market through the verification of their authenticity.

Services Offered by the Platform

The new digital platform offers a range of electronic services, including:

  • Facilitating procedures for launching private vocational training establishments
  • Updating their data
  • Managing trainee files and training programs
  • Requesting validation and renewal
  • Classification, certification, and equivalence of foreign diplomas

Collaboration with the Ministry of Education

The platform will also enable, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the orientation of 9th-grade students towards public training centers through digital means, as part of an approach to strengthen the complementarity between educational and training systems.

Dedicated Space for Investors

A dedicated space has been created on the electronic portal www.SIGAF.TN for investors, allowing them to launch training establishments remotely, while ensuring instant monitoring of training and interaction with public structures.

Services for Graduates

The platform also offers graduates of vocational training the possibility to submit equivalence and certification requests via this system.
