The ARP is organizing a study day on the proposed law for artists and artistic professions on Monday, December 15, 2025, which will be held at the Radhia Haddad hall.
Background and Objectives
According to its statement of motives, the proposed law "falls within the framework of strengthening the legislative system governing artistic activity, in order to recognize the noble mission of the artist and the importance of their role in the development of cultural, social, and economic life, and in elevating the country's civilization status."
The proposed law also aims to "provide artists with adequate legal frameworks to organize artistic professions in a way that is in harmony with the specificity of cultural practice, follows the developments of artistic fields, and allows for the consolidation of the rights of those who work in them."
Key Goals
The objective of this proposed law is to "regulate the legal status of the artist, guaranteeing them the place they deserve in society, ensuring their rights, and defining their duties, considering the important roles they play in the development of cultural, social, and economic life."
It also seeks to "organize artistic professions in a way that allows their members to benefit from a legal status that frames their areas of work, guarantees the necessary attention to their material, professional, and social conditions, supports the right to creativity, and contributes to the promotion of literary and artistic production," according to the same source.
