The Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday in a statement the reinforcement of healthcare infrastructure in Sfax, providing modern equipment and strengthening emergency services near residents, as part of the "Essaha Aziza" (Health is Precious) program funded by the European Union.
Key Interventions
These interventions concerned the Jbenyana region, where a mobile emergency and resuscitation unit (SMUR) equipped with a type "A" ambulance and a specialized team was set up to improve the quality of interventions in the region. In Kerkennah, a new scanner was put into service after the development of a space thanks to an investment of 1.8 million dinars, and the hospital was equipped with a type "A" ambulance to ensure safe and immediate transportation. In Mahres and at the Habib Bourguiba Hospital in Sfax, the fleet was reinforced with two equipped ambulances to handle emergencies, according to the statement.
Improved Healthcare Services
The Ministry of Health indicated that these interventions concretely reduce access time to care, improve responsiveness in critical situations, and enhance the services of regional hospitals. The "Essaha Aziza" program aims to improve the healthcare system in Tunisia, and these interventions are a significant step towards achieving this goal, providing better healthcare services to the population of Sfax and surrounding regions.
