New Bizerte Bridge Project: Progress and Developments

The Director General of the New Bizerte Bridge Implementation Unit at the Ministry of Equipment, Lilia Sifaoui, announced that the total amount of compensation paid to expropriated owners to clear the route of roads related to the project has reached 45 million dinars.

Project Updates

In a statement to the TAP Agency, she specified that the new Bizerte bridge project has encountered no land obstacles, unlike most road projects that are usually faced with property disputes.

Infrastructure Development

In addition to the main infrastructure, the project includes the development of six neighboring popular districts. These works include:

  • Asphalting of nearly 14 km of roads
  • Installation of public lighting
  • Paving of sidewalks
  • Laying of approximately 8 km of sanitation networks

Road Network Expansion

The construction site also includes:

  • The construction of a 4.7 km two-lane highway, equipped with three interchanges:
    • The interchange connecting National Road No. 8 to Highway A4
    • The Jarzouna South interchange leading to the technology hub
    • The Jarzouna East interchange providing access to Menzel Abderrahmane
  • A second 2.7 km two-lane highway, equipped with an interchange and four bridges

The project's progress and developments are a significant step forward in improving the region's infrastructure and transportation network.
