US President Donald Trump Threatens to Launch Intensive Bombing Campaign Against Iran if Proposal is Rejected
US President Donald Trump has threatened to launch an intensive bombing campaign against Iran if the country rejects the American proposal to end the war. This was announced in a post on the platform "Truth Social". He added that if Tehran rejects the new American offer, "we will start a bombing campaign at a much higher level than before".
It is worth noting that the American proposal involves stopping uranium enrichment in exchange for the lifting of sanctions and the release of frozen funds.
Washington and Tehran are reportedly on the verge of drafting a protocol of agreement to end the conflict and open the Strait of Hormuz, with an Iranian response expected within 48 hours.
These diplomatic efforts aim to ensure that Tehran does not possess nuclear weapons. The website "Axios" announced on Wednesday that the US and Iran are close to reaching a one-page memorandum to end the war, noting that Washington is waiting for a response from Tehran within 48 hours. It added that no agreement has yet been concluded, but that the US and Iran are closer than ever to reaching an understanding.
However, from the Iranian side, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated today that his country would only accept a "fair and comprehensive" agreement in its negotiations with the US regarding the end of the war.
These statements were made during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, during which Araghchi emphasized that Beijing is a close friend and that bilateral cooperation will be "stronger in the current circumstances".
Araghchi also stated that the war waged by the US constitutes a blatant violation of international law, and that Iran will do everything to protect its rights and interests in negotiations with the American side.
On the other hand, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that Beijing is ready to continue its efforts to ease tensions, emphasizing that direct meetings between Washington and Tehran are necessary, as the region is at a critical turning point.
It seems that the two parties are speaking different languages, both literally and figuratively! The Iranian side has never stopped mentioning that it wants to enrich uranium. Today, will it be willing to lower its demands and accept the American condition to avoid being attacked? We will have to wait and see!
