Meeting Between Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Japanese Ambassador

M. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, received M. Takeshi Osuga, Ambassador of Japan to Tunisia, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, on the occasion of the end of his mission in the country. The Ambassador paid a courtesy visit to the Minister.
Expression of Satisfaction and Gratitude
The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the Tunisian-Japanese friendship and thanked Ambassador Osuga for his efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He wished the Ambassador full success in his future diplomatic career.
Bilateral Cooperation
The meeting also allowed for a brief review of the main bilateral cooperation files in the economic, financial, and technical fields, in anticipation of upcoming events, including:
- The 12th session of the Tunisian-Japanese Joint Commission
- The celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries
Ambassador's Statement
For his part, the Japanese Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the constant support he received during his mission. He reaffirmed Japan's commitment to intensifying friendship and cooperation ties between the two countries in many areas.
Tribute to Former Tunisian Ambassador
This meeting was an opportunity to highlight the tribute paid to M. Mohamed Elloumi, former Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to Japan, by the Emperor of Japan, testifying to the depth of the friendly and cooperative relations between Tunisia and Japan.
