Nabeul Municipality to Install Surveillance Cameras at Major Intersections
The municipality of Nabeul is set to install surveillance cameras at major intersections, main roads, and entrances to the city as part of a project to strengthen security and combat urban infractions. The announcement was made by Moez Berrakcha, Secretary General of the Nabeul municipality, who specified that the municipality has signed a contract with a specialized consulting firm. The firm will soon begin implementing the project, including the installation of equipment and the deployment of the technical surveillance system. According to the municipal official, this initiative has a dual objective. On the one hand, it aims to ensure better security surveillance in sensitive and high-traffic areas. On the other hand, it aims to limit the anarchic dumping of waste, a recurring phenomenon that affects the urban environment and the quality of life of residents. "In this context, the municipality also plans to set up an operations room at the Nabeul municipality headquarters, dedicated to monitoring images captured by the cameras. This room can be made available to security services, which can access the system as needed, in accordance with existing procedures," he emphasized in a statement to Mosaique FM. This project is part of a broader approach to modernizing urban management tools and strengthening prevention through the use of digital technologies in the service of security and public order.
