National Paralympic Day Celebration in Tunisia

As part of the National Paralympic Day celebration, and in support of efforts to strengthen the inclusion of people with disabilities in sports and social life, the Tunisian National Paralympic Committee (CNPT) is organizing a series of activities on October 25th at the Bir Chellouf indoor hall in Nabeul.

Promoting Sports Culture for People with Disabilities

This important annual event aims to promote sports culture among people with disabilities by organizing various sports activities that offer them the opportunity to express themselves, reveal their potential, and flourish, said CNPT President Mohamed Mzoughi. Several sports federations will accompany the CNPT during this event, including para-athletics, para-table tennis, para-badminton, boccia, para-rowing, para-shooting, and wheelchair basketball.

Expected Participation and Activities

Nearly 350 participants are expected to attend, with a notable presence of 20 associations and specialized centers from the Nabeul governorate, said Mzoughi. He estimated that this event is an opportunity to discover new promising talents that can strengthen the national elite in various disciplines. The Paralympic Committee has also paid particular attention to autistic children, fully associating them with this day. A specific program combining sports and recreational activities adapted to their needs has been put in place to promote their social integration and stimulate the development of their motor and communication skills.

Additional Activities and Workshops

In addition to sports activities, the National Paralympic Day program also includes shows and artistic workshops in several Paralympic specialties, in the presence of technicians, coaches, and specialist doctors. The CNPT has invited several world-renowned Tunisian Paralympic champions, with a rich record and inspiring career, such as Raoua Tlili, Raja Jebali, Yassine Gharbi, and Mohamed Nidhal Khelifi, to create a motivating atmosphere that encourages participants.

Parallel Activities for Awareness and Inclusion

Parallel activities will also be organized to raise awareness about the rights of people with disabilities and strengthen their active participation in social life. This event aims to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in sports and social life, and to provide opportunities for them to express themselves and reveal their potential.
