Tourism Indicators in Nabeul Governorate Show Positive Evolution

The tourism indicators in the governorate of Nabeul have seen a positive evolution in the number of tourist arrivals in the Nabeul and Hammamet areas since the beginning of the current year until the end of last October, compared to the same period last year. This was stated by Wahid Ben Fraj, Regional Delegate for Tourism of Nabeul-Hammamet.

Ben Fraj specified that the number of tourists who arrived during the mentioned period reached nearly 820,000 tourists, and the number of nights spent exceeded 4 million, representing an increase of more than 5% compared to the same period last year. He emphasized that this tourist season is considered successful at all levels, especially since the region continues to attract tourists during the current period, making it a destination for visitors throughout the year, without being limited to the summer season.

In this context, he explained that during this period, the focus is on alternative tourism products, which are based on cultural tourism, wellness/thermal tourism, sports tourism, and golf tourism, which attract an important category of visitors with significant purchasing power and expenditure in the Nabeul and Hammamet regions.

In a statement to the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) agency, Ben Fraj indicated that the Nabeul and Hammamet regions include 13 alternative accommodation establishments, divided between rural lodges and family accommodations, which are popular with Tunisian and foreign tourists. He also noted that investment intentions in rural lodges and family accommodations in the region have developed over the past few years.
