Health Minister Visits Healthcare Facilities in Nabeul Governorate
Health Minister Mustapha Ferjani conducted a working visit on Friday to several healthcare facilities in the Nabeul governorate.
During this visit, the health minister inaugurated a new emergency unit at the intermediate health center in Takelsa, a new intensive care unit at the Tahar Maamouri University Hospital in Nabeul, and an emergency service at the Ahmed Tlatli Regional Hospital in Nabeul, which was recently renovated.
Ferjani emphasized in a statement to the TAP agency that the support for the healthcare sector in the Nabeul governorate through the inauguration of the emergency unit in Takelsa, the renovation of the emergency service at the Ahmed Tlatli Hospital, and the inauguration of the new intensive care unit at the Tahar Maamouri Hospital, illustrate the president of the republic Kais Saied's willingness to bring healthcare services closer to citizens in all delegations and consecrate his vision for equitable access to healthcare services.
"The emergency service at the Ahmed Tlatli Hospital provides important and diversified healthcare services to children and adults and includes a shock treatment room," he said, adding that efforts are continuing to strengthen this service with the necessary personnel within the framework of the recruitment program decided by the head of state.
He also stated that this service will be equipped with a scanner before the end of the year to alleviate the pressure on the Maamouri Regional Hospital in Nabeul.
Regarding the new intensive care unit at the Tahar Maamouri Hospital, the health minister explained that this service, which includes 6 intensive care beds and is staffed by a team of specialists, will enable the hospital to respond to the needs of citizens, particularly during the summer season.
At the Menzel Temime Regional Hospital, Ferjani inspected the functioning of the "Téléradio" system (remote reading of radiographies) and followed the installation of new equipment for the radiology service, as well as the operation of healthcare services at a distance, including specialized consultations in coordination with the digital hospital.
On this occasion, he stated that the digitization of healthcare services is "in line with the evolution and will enable the healthcare services to be brought closer to citizens," noting that this process facilitates the instant reading of a scanner for emergency cases and reduces the waiting time for radiological examinations to less than a week.
During his visit to the local hospital in Grombalia, the health minister announced the operational launch of the laparoscopic surgery unit.
On this occasion, he emphasized the efforts made to consolidate the surgery services in this establishment, stating that the support for the Grombalia hospital and all healthcare establishments is based on scientific statistical indicators that are taken into account to provide resources and equipment within the framework of an effective governance approach to the healthcare system.
Mentioning the unique health identifier project, Ferjani emphasized that this system will be generalized in the coming weeks, so that each citizen has a unique digital medical file to use in the public and private sectors, explaining that this measure will accelerate diagnoses and medical examinations.
