Ministry of the Interior Extends Contracts for Detached Contractual Agents
The Ministry of the Interior announced the renewal of contracts for detached contractual agents for an additional year. This extension is part of the Special Programme for Strengthening Human‑Resources Capacity in New Municipalities and will be funded within the limits of the programme’s available budget.
In its written response to two questions submitted by Deputies Manal Beddida and Noura Chabrak—published on the website of the Assembly of the People’s Representatives—the Ministry clarified that:
- Contractual work continues and the programme is scheduled to run through 2026.
- Ongoing discussions with the Presidency of the Government’s services aim to define the permanent hiring (titularisation) procedures for these agents.
The Ministry added that contracts have now been signed with the concerned agents and forwarded to the Fund for Loans and Assistance to Local Communities. This step transfers the necessary credits for their remuneration from the special programme’s budget.
Furthermore, all governors have been instructed to apply this decision uniformly to the new municipalities under their jurisdiction, in line with the advisory opinion of the Presidency’s services.
